Lorebyte Timer is a study timer app (Pomodoro / stopwatch) with exam-countdown study planning, statistics, and integration with its sibling flashcard app "Lorebyte."
This policy explains what information Lorebyte Timer handles and how it is used.
1. Information stored
The app stores the following primarily on your device:
- Study session records (start/end times, mode, selected exam and topic, start note, reflection)
- Exams you register (name, date, target hours), topics, tags, and saved timers
- Daily study aggregates, streaks, and daily goals
- App settings, reminder times, and integration/sync settings
2. How information is used
- To run the timer and record study sessions
- To compute days remaining until your exams and today’s recommended study time
- To display statistics such as heatmaps and streaks
- To send local reminders and forgot-to-stop alerts, if you enable them
- To make study data available across your Apple devices via iCloud
3. Purchases
The app offers a 7-day free trial and a freemium model in which core features remain free. All features are unlocked via a one-time in-app purchase (non-consumable).
Purchases are processed by the App Store / Apple. We do not receive your payment details such as card numbers.
Unlock status is determined via StoreKit / receipts and can be restored with “Restore Purchases.” To manage the free-trial period, a first-launch timestamp may be stored on the device.
4. No ads, tracking, or third-party sharing
The app does not serve ads, track users, or sell data to data brokers. We do not use your study data for advertising, marketing, or resale.
5. iCloud sync
If you use iCloud sync, study data syncs across devices on the same Apple ID via Apple iCloud / CloudKit. Core features also work without sync.
6. Integration with Lorebyte
If the sibling app "Lorebyte" is installed, the app can import review-session records (date, card counts, study time) from Lorebyte through a shared on-device container (App Group) and count them toward your study time.
This integration happens entirely on your device; no data is sent to external servers for it. You can turn it off in Settings.
7. Calendar export
Only if you enable calendar export does the app write study sessions as events to a calendar you choose. Calendar access is managed by the OS permission and can be revoked at any time.
8. Notifications
With your permission, the app sends local notifications for reminders and forgot-to-stop alerts. Core features work even if you decline.
9. Lock Screen & widgets
The running timer appears on the Lock Screen (Live Activity / Dynamic Island), and exam countdowns and progress appear in widgets. These displays use on-device data only.
10. Deletion
Deleting the app removes on-device data. Synced data in iCloud can be removed via iCloud storage management in the iOS Settings app.
11. Children’s privacy
This is a general-audience study app. Age ratings and data handling follow the App Store age-rating settings and the implementation.
12. Changes
This policy may be updated for new features, laws, or App Store requirements. Material changes are announced in the app or on this page.
